Deer River Woman Pleads Guilty to 6 Felony Counts of Theft

Stole over $53,000 from multiple individuals

On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, Rinda Lynn Etter, 57, of Deer River, Minnesota, appeared in Itasca County District Court.

According to Itasca County Attorney, John J. Muhar, Etter is charged with six felony counts and two gross misdemeanor counts of Theft.

The charges stem from allegations, that over a three year period, beginning October 1, 2013, Etter engaged in a series of thefts from multiple individuals and stole over $53,000.

At this hearing, Etter pleaded guilty as charged pursuant to an agreement with the prosecutor, in which Etter would be placed on 10 years of supervised probation with multiple conditions, including the payment of over $53,000 in restitution.

The agreement is subject to court approval. Etter’s sentencing hearing is set for March 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
