Local Businesses Launch ‘Small In The Mall’

Three locally owned businesses have shops in the Miller Hill Mall, and those stores are banding together to offer customers an after hours shopping experience.

The stores opened their doors to customers at 6 p.m., after the rest of the mall closed on Sunday. Each of the 3 stores I Lake It, Art in the Alley, and Legacy toys had their own promotions and deals available. The goal of the event is to encourage people to do some of their holiday shopping at small businesses, and to showcase the stores.

“I think people are really starting to understand that when they shop local and support local, that it creates economic vitality in their region and we all do better when we all do better,” said Lucie Amumdsen, who works for I Lake It.

The doors by Noodles and Company was left open for people to access the after hours shopping.

The even lasted two hours and included a prize basket worth 300 dollars.
