Traditional Scandinavian Festival Returns to Knife River

Event Has Been in Minnesota for Four Years

A cultural Christmas Celebration is back in Knife River.

Julebyen is a centuries old Scandinavian holiday tradition, that has been celebrated in Knife River for 4 years. It features an Outdoor Market with traditional foods, local art, music, and crafts.

“One of the things that make Julebyen so popular, is that we’re able to bring people here by train, thanks to the scenic Northshore railroad,” said Paul Von Goertz, who works as the Communications Director for Julebyen.

The event also had a nativity with live animals.
