Douglas County Finishes Election Recount

Recount effort did not change the results in Douglas County.

The Douglas County Clerk’s office finished the recount of about 22,000 votes in two and a half days.

Hilary Clinton picked up twelve votes while Donald Trump gathered two more.

These adjustments were not enough to change the election’s outcome in Douglas County.

“Recounts are a lot of work to get ready for and they can be stressful. Once you’re done, you’re feeling pretty good especially when you can look at your results and say there wasn’t too much of an error that occurred,” said county clerk Sue Sandvick.

The total cost of the recount was $57,000. It will be paid by the parties that requested the recount.

Twenty-three counties in Wisconsin have completed their recounts.

Pennsylvania and Michigan also are going through recount efforts.
