Spirit Mountain Set to Open Saturday
Limited trails will be open for use this weekend
With temperatures below freezing, Spirit Mountain will officially open Saturday morning.
Crews have been working the last few days making snow and getting trails ready to go.
There will be at least two top to bottom trails open, as well as some freestyle terrain with rails and boxes set up.
Anybody can come out this weekend, but Spirit Mountain staff says there will not be any beginner trails or lessons available yet.
Spirit Mountain expects to have close to half their trails opened by next weekend, but wanted to open up for those ready to hit the slopes.
“People are antsy. People are pent up. We just want people to understand that it is limited terrain. It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be good skiing,” says Jody Ream, General Manager at Spirit Mountain.
Trails will be open from 9 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Rentals are available at the Spirit Mountain Grand Avenue Chalet.
