Spirit Mountain Opens Up

Weather Finally Cooperates

Today was the first day skiers and snowboarders could hit the slopes at Spirit Mountain

Unseasonably warm temperatures in October and November had halted snow making efforts. One man drove over 100 miles just to make it for opening day and says he’s used to being on the hill before now.

.”Yeah usually they open sooner but it’s not their fault because of the warm weather. We usually start sometime around thanksgiving or earlier, so this year that got a little later but you know when you’re a skier you wait till you get it”

One employee tells FOX 21 that even though only one run is open for now, it’s good to see activity at Spirt Mountain
