Second Round of Snow Continues Overnight

After a Mid-January Thaw, winter is back in the Northland with a Canadian Clipper bringing beneficial snowfall to all the trails and slopes across the area. The latest snowfall reports so far across the Northland from 8 PM tonight shows 5 inches of snow in Wrenshall with numerous other locations seeing 4 inch amounts.

Snow is expected to continue for the rest of the evening hours and the overnight, with the coverage of snow expected to diminish as well as the intensity overnight as well. Additional snowfall amounts should be less than 2 inches.

Another burst of snow is in the forecast tomorrow afternoon as cold air advection works its way into the area. This will put an end in the snowfall by tomorrow night, expect for the South Shore east of Ashland where lake effect snow showers will develop.

Lake effect snow may continue through Wednesday morning as winds continue out of the northwest. Several inches of snow are possible at this time.
