2017 Two Harbors Winter Frolic Begins
Events will be Happening Friday and Saturday in the North Shore Community
TWO HARBORS, Minn. – Starting Friday, one community along the North Shore will be celebrating the winter season as temperatures begin to climb.
Hundreds are expected to take part in the annual Two Harbors Winter Frolic.
The two-day event kicks off Friday evening with a chili cook-off challenge and a community curling challenge.
Sliding, skating, and snow sculptures are also available for families to take part in.
“We’ve always had to plan for winter sports and activities, but also some indoor and outdoor things that don’t depend on snow,” said Erin Mecklin with the Winter Frolic Committee.
Saturday night, a Snow Ball will give folks the chance to warm up inside the big tent and listen to music from The Northwood’s Band.
“It’s a community-run event and we try to celebrate winter! We have to embrace winter in the Northwood’s!”
Mecklin says the Winter Frolic Committee starts preparing for this annual event six months ahead of time, around September.
