Duluthians Learn to Make Laser Hearts for Valentine’s Day

MakerSpace Offers Class for Community Members to Get Creative with Gifts

DULUTH, Minn. – Another way Duluthians got into the mood for Valentine’s Day was by creating laser cut hearts at Duluth MakerSpace.

Six participants learned how to engrave and cut their own heart designs with lasers and other equipment. They also attached LEDs along the edges to light their hearts up.

The class presented an opportunity to be creative with their Valentine’s Day gift.

“Well if they want to get something for their loved one, then they can make it instead of just having to buy something,” says MakerSpace shop manager Miranda Durbin.

MakerSpace offers classes every few days for people to learn to use equipment. You don’t have to be a member to take the classes.
