Duluth, Minn. – In honor of Black History month, a celebration was held at the Lincoln Park elementary school auditorium. The event honored those who have made an impact on the Twin Ports African American community.

The night was full of speakers, singers, and drummers. Everyone was welcome and organizers said teh celebration helped break down barriers and brought people together.

“We want to just open up to learn about diversity to learn about people of different origins, to accept them to love, to be together and to work together,” said integration specialist Djibril Bangoura.

Organizers hoped this was the first of many celebrations. They said they started the event to get more attention for Black History month in the Northland.
