Male Arrested on Felony Warrant and Firearm Charges
1100 block of 87th Avenue West
DULUTH, Minn. – Friday afternoon, just after 1:30 a.m., the Duluth Police Department responded to a residence in the 1100 block of 87th Avenue West after receiving information that an individual residing there had a felony warrant.
Officers arrived at the location and found the vehicle belonging to the individual.
An officer observed the male inside the residence, and when the male came to the back door, he refused to open the door.
When officers finally made entry into the residence, the male attempted to flee out the front door where officers were already waiting.
He was arrested and identified as 35-year-old Ryan Lahti.
Officers executed a search warrant when a loaded magazine from a firearm was spotted in plain sight. A firearm and ammunition were located in Lahti’s room.
Lahti is prohibited from owning firearms based on his prior criminal convictions. He now faces possible charges for felon in possession of a firearm and 5th degree possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on the felony warrant.
The Duluth Police Department states that it aggressively investigates individuals who illegally possess firearms.
