Local Legislators Hold Town Hall
The Venue at the Children's Museum was Packed
DULUTH, Minn.- More than a hundred people turned out for the town hall with State Senator Erik Simonson, as well as representatives Jennifer Schultz and Liz Olson.
Saturday’s listening session was the first since the Minnesota’s legislative period opened in January.
“It’s really important for any elected official to make sure that they stay in tune with their constituents, and perhaps this is the best way to do that,” said Senator Simonson.
Northlanders shared their thoughts and concerns about issues they’d like the legislature to address this year.
“We heard a lot about support for higher education. We heard a lot about k12… A lot of policy issues around clean water, environment. It’s obvious people are passionate about a number of issues,” said Simonson.
Organizers say more sessions are planned.
