Cloquet Fire Dept. Offers Free Car Seat Clinics

CLOQUET, Minn. – Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 3 to 14.
Car seats that are installed properly can help prevent many of the injuries or deaths that could occur.
The Cloquet Fire Department is trying their best to inform the public by giving free lessons on how to install car seats properly.
Once a month certified car seat technicians will be on hand at the Cloquet Fire Department to climb you’re your vehicle to inspect or give tips on how to install your car seat properly.
“It’s extremely important to make sure those car seats are installed correctly in case of a crash to make sure that those seats do their job and perform correctly in a car crash and jeep those kids safe.” Says Sarah Buhs, Captain Public Education Coordinator.
They also say that buying a used car seat could be a bad idea, and that new is always better.Â
Car seats have an expiration date of about 6 years and some could have been involved in a crash and is considered unusable.
