Lake Superior College Celebrates Mardi Gras

Student Life Organization Held a Party in the Hallways

DULUTH, Minn. – Fat Tuesday celebrations found their way to Lake Superior College.

LSC’s Student Life organization sponsored a Mardi Gras party on-campus Tuesday.

The traditional festive sounds of New Orleans Jazz music filled the hallways, as students donned masks and played games.

“People have had a really good time,” said Julia Summer of LSC Student Life.  “We’re giving out beads, little rubber duckies, it’s just been really fun.  We’ve had people dancing in the hallways.”

Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras, marks the end of the traditional Carnival period.  It’s followed by Ash Wednesday, the start of the Lenten period.
