Roads Turn To Ice As Storm Rolls Through
Hillside Crashes Were All Common As Drivers Tried To Make It Home
The roads were ugly tonight. Making travel difficult for many in the Twin Ports.
It wasn’t very good. It only took a few blocks to see several accidents and multiple cars unable to gain traction to make it up the hill.
One Duluth driver said that this has been the worst he’s seen all winter.
“These road conditions are horrible. This is the slickest I’ve seen this hill. All winter long people are having a lot of trouble as you can see,” Says Duluthian Chris Tucker.
As the temperatures continue to drop overnight and wet roads continue to freeze it will take city crews a little bit of time to tackle the bad road conditions.
Drivers that dealt with the conditions have a few words of advice for the remainder of the night.
.”Don’t drive out tonight, avoid the hills don’t drive out tonight,” Says Ben and Dylan, the two that pushed a car up the hill.
“If you don’t have to leave home, if you’re somewhere where you can stay the night, stay there just be safe,” Says Tucker.
Both Minnesota and Wisconsin have 511 websites monitoring road conditions.
