STEM Day at Lowell Elementary
St. Scholastica Students Helped Kids Learn About Science
DULUTH, Minn. – Students at Duluth’s Lowell Elementary School had a hands–on day of science Tuesday.
About a hundred students from the College of St. Scholastica brought a variety of experiments for the youngsters to try.
The goal of STEM day at Lowell was to get more kids interested in science and related fields.
“It is so much fun,” said Danielle Benusa, a CSS alumna now working at St. Luke’s. “They have an awesome time and their faces light up and it just gets them interested at a young level. They are dealing with some high level science and they don’t realize it.”
Among the topics covered were creating and splitting DNA as well as volcanoes.
