High School Girls Get Free Prom Dresses

33 Dresses Have Been Chosen Already

DULUTH, Minn.- High school girls had the chance to pick out a perfect dress for free Sunday at the 2nd Annual Prom Dress Giveaway.

Girls chose their favorite dress from 170 formal dresses, donated from community members over the past year.

The event is put on by If the Dress Fits, a local non-profit that helps high school girls get a prom dress to wear on the big day, regardless of their family’s income.

“For them to come to our events and see the beautiful prom dresses that we have to offer, I think it makes the night more special knowing they’re wearing a dress that they love, a dress that they feel confident in, because that’s the whole point,” said Ashleigh Arntson, co-founder of If the Dress Fits.

The event continues Monday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Bella Rosa Bridal.
