Proctor City Council Meets Tonight to Discuss Fired Police Chief

A Petition Will be Presented

PROCTOR, Minn.-Tonight more than 250 people have signed a petition to reinstate Proctor’s Police Chief Walter Wobig.

Supporters will be at tonight’s council meeting to present the petition. Mayor Phil Larson, along with councilors Troy Dewall and Gary Nowak, were against renewing Wobig’s contract.

Wobig was the chief for more than 14 years and did not have any major complaints filed against him.

No formal reason has been given by the council for why Wobig was let go.

We’ll have much more on this at 9 p.m. with reactions from the public and city officials.
