School Opens Communication With Parents

Proctor, Minn

Parents went back to school tonight in Proctor. The Proctor School District held a parent academy tonight discussing many topics parents are most concerned about.

The academy is the first of its kind in Proctor. Topics like student athlete recruiting, curriculum and state testing among others were all topics the parents came up with and wanted more information on.

School staff says that it’s important that the schools and parents stay in communication for the benefit of their child.

“Parents are a huge part of the student’s success. The more parents are involved the more successful the students are, there’s a lot of research that shows that. We just want to open our doors so parents can come see the great things that are happening at our school,” School Principal Tim Rohweder.

The turnout of parents was so good that they now plan to have the parent academy in the fall and spring of each year.
