The Event was Put on by UMD Students.

DULUTH, Minn.- Around 40 3rd, 4th and 5th graders had a small taste of what it’s like to be an engineer.

The Society of Women Engineers at UMD hosted the Spring into Engineering event, where children tried out hands on activities, that put their problem solving skills to the test.  The goal behind the event is to “If we can keep them engaged through their elementary school and high school years, it just really gets them excited about what they’re doing and what we’re doing, and their opportunities for the future,” said Tayler Hebner.

Spring into Engineering was held at the Civil Engineering Department at UMD.
