Saint Fennessy 4K Run A Success

600 Runners Including Children Participated

DULUTH, Minn. – No walk up registrations welcome at this year’s St. Fennessy 4k fun run as it sold out for the first time ever.

600 racers laced them up early this morning for the first leg of the 3 race KP challenge.

The challenge is for runners to commit to 3 races including the Fennessy, the Fitgers 5k and the Park Point 5 miler.

Each race is also for a good cause encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle for youth.

“It’s our way of giving right back to the community and supporting youth athletics throughout the region. We give grants, we have a show program, and we also do Saturday morning at the races, Wednesday morning at the races during the summer and winter months. It’s just a way to get kids moving and active and also introduce them to the sport of running,” Says Kate Kucinski.

Since 1990, the youth athletic foundation has contributed more than 860 thousand dollars to youth athletics around the Northland.
