County Seat Theater Company Recognized at State Festival
County Seat Theater Company Started 30 Years Ago at Carlton High School
CLOQUET, Minn. – As we head into spring, what better way to fight off the puddles and mud than with a trip to the theatre!
Exciting things are happening at the County Seat Theater Company in Cloquet.
Recently, the team of talented actors and actresses brought home recognition, placing third in a state festival.
The award, presented by the Minnesota Association of Community Theatres, also recognized outstanding achievement for costumes, ensemble, and scenic design for their latest production of “A Mad Tea Party.”
“People continue to come back, we have wonderful supporters out there, they just love the space and the intimacy,” said Joel Soukkala, General Manager of County Seat Theater Company.
Starting at the Carlton High School as a band uniform fundraiser, over the past 30 years, the team has grown with each and every production they put on.
“We’ve discussed, do we grow, do we make it bigger, and grander and I think we really want to stay as small as possible. People just love the hometown feeling of it,” said Soukkala.
The County Seat Theater Company is hosting four weeks of children’s theater this summer.
