PROCTOR, Minn. – The city of Proctor’s vacant seat for police chief may not be filled anytime soon, according to Mark Casey, the city’s administrator.

Casey told FOX 21 the Proctor Civil Service Commission is first focusing on selecting candidates for a patrol officer position.

When that officer is hired, the commission will then move on to the police chief vacancy.

In the meantime, Sgt. Ken Gaidas is the acting chief.

This comes after the city council voted to not renew longtime chief Walter Wobig for reasons still not publically known as of Wednesday.
