MOOSE LAKE, Minn. – The Lake Theatre in Moose Lake is celebrating 80 years on March 26.

While a lot has changed since the theatre opened in 1937, the historic small town movie theatre has remained the same.

Customers have been seeing movies at The Lake for decades, and Sunday was no different as people came in to celebrate its 80th birthday. To celebrate, the theatre was offering a free showing of Disney’s Snow White.

Roger Thieling, a longtime patron of The Lake Theatre said, “It’s not changed. You don’t go in a big, informal ten theatre seat. This is just, it’s comfy. It’s home, you know. You know everybody and it’s just a great place to go.”

The Lower family has owned the theatre since it opened, and offered the free showing to thank the community for their support for generations.
