Dressing for Less this Prom Season
Friday, March 31 is National Prom Day and Take 2 Consignments is Ready for Business
SUPERIOR, Wisc. – Friday, March 31 is National Prom Day, and many stores in the Northland are getting busy as local high school students are searching out for the perfect dress.
In Superior, staff at Take 2 Consignments say they start seeing young ladies come in around January, February, and early March, looking to pick out the perfect dress.
Owner Diane McGinnis says over the past 14 years of owning her business she’s seeing more and more sales being lost to online sites.
McGinnis says although it might be quick and easy to shop online, it still doesn’t beat dress hunting.
“They might look at a picture and say they want a certain one, but once they have it on their body it might not look right for them,” said McGinnis.
Many of the dresses sold at Take 2 Consignments are brand new, or used only one or two times.
McGinnis says she gets many items in that were purchased through online sites, but simply don’t fit.
