Elementary School Patrollers Get Treated to Movie
Students Help Classmates Cross Streets Before and After School
DULUTH, Minn. – Some local elementary school kids got a special treat for keeping their classmates safe.
These students who help classmates cross streets before and after school, were invited to a special showing of the new movie “The Boss Baby.”
The event, paid for by community donations, was sponsored by the Duluth Police Department as a way to say thanks.
“These kids have been working hard every morning and afternoon through the first three fourths of the school year here,” says Duluth Police Officer Bill Stovern. “All sorts of weather, keeping our kids safe walking to school.”
Officials say more than 100 kids took in the film, about a third of students who serve as patrollers.
