Lake Superior Art Glass Hot Shop Opens

New Location Offers Local Artists a Chance at Making Furnace Blown Glass

DULUTH, Minn. – Ever wanted to make a paperweight? A new art class lets you do that.

Lake Superior Art Glass opened its new Hot Shop on London Road in the Armory Arts Center earlier today. The new shop allows artists to try their hand at furnace blown glass to make a variety of projects.

“We’re really excited to bring hot glass to the public, let them try their hands at it because it’s a fascinating medium getting to work with 2,100 degree molten glass and form it and shape it and create a piece of artwork from it,” says Lake Superior Art Glass owner Dan Neff.

Lake Superior Art Glass’ old location is still open and offers classes working with open flame.
