Tourist Season Has Arrived In Canal Park
Families from near and far come to Canal Park
DULUTH, Minn. – The first nice weekend of Spring brought the unofficial start of tourist season to Duluth.
Canal Park was packed with locals and out of towners like the azure family from Minneapolis who hoped to squeeze in as many sights as possible before heading back south to the Cities.
“There’s just so much to see. The kids have never been to Duluth before but Michelle and I have been here. I was just really nice thing, short trip, we only had a short amount of time to come up and bring them to Duluth and show them the lake, and this is something really like no other,” Says Dad.
With Spring slowly taking hold temperatures on the rise and ships in the canal, Canal Park businesses expect a boost to their bottom line.
“Business has picked up quite a bit. Once the shipping season opens people are down in the canal and wanting to watch the ships come through. The warm weather is certainly helped as well,” Says Grandma’s GM Jill Toms.
Canal Park businesses hope the weather holds and tourists continue making their way to town.
