22-Year-Old Charged with 1st Degree Sale After Heroin Bust

DULUTH, Minn. – The Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, along with the Superior Police Department, and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on a motor vehicle and 22-year-old Kontrell Elander Drake Brown of Chicago following an investigation into the sale of heroin.

The search warrant was executed in Duluth, and during the search of the individual, investigators recovered 14 grams of heroin individually packaged for sale, as well as U.S. currency.

An additional gram was recovered from the vehicle.

Kontrell Brown was arrested and taken to St. Louis County Jail on a probable cause charge of 1st Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, Brown was formally charged by the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office with 1st Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance. Brown’s bail has been set at $12,000.
