Nemadji Set to Open West Golf Course Friday
Maintenance and grounds crew have been working nonstop the past few weeks there, removing standing water to help dry out the fairways
SUPERIOR, Wisc. – With above average temps across the Northland, golfers are already getting their swings ready.
Nemadji Golf Course in Superior was packed this afternoon. Right now only the driving range and putting surfaces are open, but staff there says they will open the west course this Friday.
Maintenance and grounds crew have been working nonstop the past few weeks there, removing standing water to help dry out the fairways.
Golfers we talked to today say they’re ready to get out on the course.
“Normally I go to Florida for three months, but I didn’t go this year,” said Al Gagne. “I’m mostly back here [in Superior] now and enjoying the fact that spring is here.”
This is one of the earliest dates Nemadji has been able to open the course to the public.
Staff there wants to remind golfers the course will be walking only for the next few weeks.
Tee times will be on a first come first serve basis.
