St. Luke’s Urologists Raise Awareness of Testicular Cancer

Doctors Emphasize Importance of Monthly Checks

DULUTH, Minn. – This month doctors around the world are bringing light to a disease not often talked about.

April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month, so Dr. Rebekah Beach, a Urologist with St. Luke’s Urology Associates, visited FOX 21 to talk about this cancer.

Dr. Beach says this is the most common cancer among men ages 15-44.

According to the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation, if it’s detected early it has a survival rate of more than 95%.

The month is a time designated to raising awareness about it and encouraging monthly self-exams.

A social media campaign is underway to encourage men to get out and exercise and to conduct monthly checks.

Use the hashtag #goballsout to participate.
