Thousands Run in the Fitger’s 5K

Proceeds go to Benefit Healthy Lifestyles for Youth

DULUTH, Minn.- Thousands took to the streets of Duluth today for the 28th annual Fitger’s 5k.

Some of the runners used the race as a training session for Grandma’s marathon, while others were there just to enjoy running or walking on such a beautiful day. Jean Westberg, a participant, says she is a breast cancer survivor, and this is just one of the many races she participates in.

“I do as many 5ks as I can, my goal is to do 70 by the age of 70, and I have 5 more years to go,” said Jean Westberg.

Proceeds from the race benefited the Young Athletes foundation, a Grandma’s Marathon program that promotes healthy lifestyles for youth.
