Mountain Iron Kitchen Fire Leaves 2 Dogs Deceased

MOUNTAIN IRON, Minn. – Five fire departments along with the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a house fire in the 8000 block of Gardenia Street in Mountain Iron, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department.

The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen, and crews were able to contain the fire.

The house was unoccupied at the time, however two dogs were inside the home and were found deceased. A cat was also reported inside the home, but has not been located, according to authorities.

The fire remains under investigation at this time by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
