Salvation Army Host ‘Stamp Out the Hunger’ Food Drive Tomorrow
Salvation Army Also Needs Help Sorting Food
DULUTH, Minn.-The Salvation Army and the U.S. Post Office are partnering up tomorrow for their 25th “Stamp Out the Hunger” Food Drive.
All you have to do is leave a bag of non-perishable food near your mailbox and the postal worker will pick it up.
The drive couldn’t come at a better time, because with schools out, low-income students have less options for their daily meals.
“This time of the year beginning in May, going through the summer months, is particularly difficult to get donations,” said Gordon Mesedahl, director of development for the Duluth Salvation Army. “People are busy doing other things.”
Volunteers are also needed at the Salvation Army food shelf to sort out food.
