Veterans Historical Center Honors Fallen Heroes

Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center Offering Free Admission to Veterans

SUPERIOR, Wis. – In honor of Memorial Day, the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center will be part of many Memorial Day activities, including free admission for Veterans and active military all weekend.

Tonight, the historical center is hosting a program about the release of a new book written about shipbuilding in Duluth.

The author, Gerald Sandvick, will be there to sign copies of, “World War II Shipbuilding in Duluth and Superior.” The program starts at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, the American Legion Auxiliary in Superior will be selling poppies at Walmart in Superior and at the east end Super One.

On Monday, the American Legion Post #435 will perform a memorial service at Calvary Cemetery at 9:00 a.m., followed by another service at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.

At 1:00 p.m. the Superior Singers will perform their concert “Let’s Go to the Movies” at the Veterans Historical Center.
