21st Annual Battle of the Jug Bands Rocks in Duluth

Bands Played Hand-Made Instruments at the Event

DULUTH, Minn.- Bands from around the region made unique music using jugs and washboards at the 21st annual Battle of the Jug Bands in Duluth.

The musicians played some interesting homemade instruments at the event held at Amazing Grace Bakery in Canal Park for a chance to win the Krumkake Iron, a Norwegian Waffle Iron used by Jug Bands as a clacker.

“We are playing actual garbage and it’s kinda fun and I like a lot of the pseudo instruments,” said Lee Johnson, a musician.

The event is held on the Sunday of Memorial Weekend each year.
