UWS Upward Bound Program Receives Funding for Next Five Years

Program Got $1.28 Million Grant to Continue Helping Superior Kids Get Education

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-Superior Upward Bound program has been re-funded for the next five years.

The program recently got a federal grant of more than $1 million. They’ll use that to continue to help high-schoolers from the Superior School District. who are low income or first generation college students, continue their education.

“It’s important for these students to have these opportunities because it builds their motivation, their self worth, their self esteem,” says Angie Hugdahl, the Director of UWS Upward Bound.

Every student that completed the Superior Upward Bound program has graduated from high school and most have gone on to college.
