Annual Lincoln Park Walleye Open to Take Place This Weekend

$20,000 in Prizes up for Grabs

DULUTH, Minn. – Minnesota lakes have been filled with fishermen lately as the weather continues to improve, and this weekend the St. Louis River will be packed with hundreds participating in the 17th Annual Lincoln Park Walleye Open.

It starts up at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 17 anywhere on the St. Louis River.

Each angler may weigh–in one walleye at the weigh–in station on Rice’s Point Landing off Garfield Ave.

Weigh–ins run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. but contestants in line at 5 p.m. will still be able to weigh–in their fish.

All contestants must be registered and have a signed waiver on file by the first weigh–in.

Only walleye caught on a hook and line will be accepted for weigh–in.

Prizes will be given to the largest fish based on weight.

The 40th largest fish wins the top prize of $1,000.

Entry is only $50 and you can register at any of the following locations:  Bedrock Bar, Bergey’s Bar, Tappa Keg Inn and the Bait Box in Superior.

Post–tourney party held at the Bedrock Bar (2023 W. Superior St) with free food and raffle prizes.

The Lincoln Park Walleye Open is put on each year by the Lincoln Park Business Group.

A local non–profit whose mission is to lead and promote the revitalization of Lincoln Park through business, economic and community development.
