Lincoln Park Farmers Market Kicks Off With Party
DULUTH, Minn. – Lincoln Park Farmers Market kicked off the season with a summer celebration on Thursday.
It’s the fifth year for the farmers market located at the Harrison Community Center in Lincoln Park. The market is organized by Seeds of Success, and is designed to bring fresh food into a neighborhood that lacks food access.
“We’re bringing fresh food into the neighborhood,” market manager Stephen Lorber said. “There was a call from the neighborhood – they wanted a farmers market, more growing space. We’re still trying to get a grocery store here. We’re answering the call of the neighborhood and bringing fresh food to these people.”
The celebration included music and free food provided by several Duluth restaurants. The market is open every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
