Manhunt for U-P Jail Escapee

BESSEMER, Mich. – The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office and area departments on are the hunt for a man who escaped from the Gogebic County Jail Monday night.

The escaped inmate is 26-year-old Daniel Ferguson. He was reported missing at 9:50 p.m. on Monday, June 19.

He is described as 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with hazel eyes and blonde hair.

He was last seen barefoot wearing striped black and white pants with an orange t-shirt heading north on Moore Street in Bessemer. His current charges include an OWI and felony probation violation warrants from Wisconsin. Authorities indicate he has an extensive criminal history in addition.

Authorities urge residents to lock their homes and vehicles. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Ferguson they are asked to call 911.

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office does note that those assisting or colluding with an escaped inmate could face felony charges.
