Outdoor Writers Association of America Hosts Conference in Duluth
Outdoor Writers to Meet in Duluth
DULUTH, Minn. – The Northland has endless terrain for outdoor lovers to enjoy and this weekend some writers will be taking advantage of that as well.
The 90th Annual Outdoor Writers Association of America Conference is June 24-26 in Duluth.
This is the third time the conference has been held in Duluth. No other city has hosted the conference more than twice.
OWAA Executive Director Brandon Shuler visited FOX 21 to discuss the event.
Shuler tells us the goal of the conference is for members to get better at their craft, “writing, radio skills, tv skills. We also want to promote the enjoyment of our natural resources and conservation of our natural resources. We also want to inspire the next generation of outdoor communicators.”
For those aspiring to this career, on Friday, June 23 from 3-6 p.m. they’re holding a “Becoming an Outdoor Writer” event that’s open to the public. “Folks can come in a talk with some of the best outdoor writers in the nation,” Shuler explained.
