Duluth Playhouse Presents One Act Festival
Festival Kicks Off in Duluth, Celebrates New Plays Written and Directed by Women Playwrights
DULUTH, Minn. – The Duluth Playhouse is inviting you to join in on the fun of their first ever One Act Festival.
The festival is a celebration of new plays written by women playwrights from around the country and directed by women in Duluth.
The goal of the event is to highlight women voices, while showcasing many short seven to ten minute plays written and directed by women.
Christine Winkler Johnson, a Director at the Duluth Playhouse stopped by FOX 21 Local News Friday morning to chat about how the festival came to be.
Playwright Rachel Schroeder, visiting from New York, submitted one of her pieces to the Duluth Playhouse. Her piece will be performed this weekend at the festival.
The One Act Festival began June 22 and will wrap up on June 24.
