Hoops Brewing Opens in Canal Park
The vision of longtime brewer Dave Hoops is now a reality in Duluth
DULUTH, Minn. – Duluth’s craft beer industry took a giant step forward on Tuesday. The long–awaited Hoops Brewing opened for business in Canal Park.
After many months of construction, brewery founder Dave Hoops and his team welcomed the public inside to get the first taste of their beer.
What used to be the old Timber Lodge Steakhouse is now a massive 250–seat brew hall.
Hoops Brewing currently has nine craft beers on tap, with space for up to 30 in the future. The brewery plans to start with simple, clean beers, and slowly roll out more variety in the coming weeks.
Currently on tap at Hoops:
- -No. 5050 Bavarian Hefeweizen
- -No. 15 Pale Ale
- -No. 5051 Dunkel
- -No. 22 Amber
- -No. 19 Wheat Pale Ale
- -No. 12 Blonde
- -No. 10 Extra Pale Ale
- -No. 17 Summer Wheat
- -No. 42 Raspberry Blonde
“It’s a dream come true,” says Hoops. “It’s 25 years of brewing and getting to this point took a lot of luck and a lot of help. The feeling in here is warm, really nice and casual. It feels great.”
Customers will be able to take their favorite beer home in large cans called “crowlers.”
The beer hall is open every day from 11 a.m. to midnight.
