Duluth City Council President Officially Files for Re-Election
DULUTH, Minn. —
Duluth City Council President Joel Sipress is officially running for re-election.
Sipress officially filed his paperwork at around 11:00 a.m. earlier this morning.
Sipress has been serving the Second District in Duluth since being appointed in 2013, and was chosen as the Council President at the beginning of this year.
He says he will continue to push for an open dialogue between himself and the Duluthians that he serves.
“My mission is making sure when these sorts of decisions are made that people have a voice and people have representation,” Sipress said. “And sometimes that means bringing people together from different perspectives to find that solution that works best for everyone.”
Today was the first day city council candidates could file.
The election will be on November 7, later this year.
