Antique Shop is Home to Generations of History

Northland Uncovered: Antique Boutique

DULUTH, Minn. – Shops with similar products around the country hold treasures and stories of generations.

That is certainly the case at Antique Boutique in Duluth.

“It’s kind of fun to find something different and unique,” said Co-owner Patricia Fish.

With pieces from almost any era, Fish says the products give variety not found in department stores.

Fish also says owning an antique shop is a learning experience, it’s kind of a fun education to research different pieces.”

These collectables are all coming into the shop with their own story.

“Most of the things we get are from people who are downsizing around the area here,” explained Fish.

With the products coming into the store in this way, many find new local homes.ome of the folks that come through are my age and they’ll say ‘oh I can’t believe the stuff from the 70s or the stuff from the 80s is collectable, or kids want it’, but the younger kids come in and it’s something new and different they haven’t seen.”

The quality of the product is something Fish says is second to none.

“If you go into an antique store there’s a big variety of different things and the quality is nice. The glassware is kind of nice, clear glass,” said Fish.
