Harvey Donation Drive Set For Thursday at Denfeld High School

Cash donations, bottled water, air mattresses, toiletries and pet food are all needed

DULUTH, Minn. – A donation drive for those affected by Hurricane Harvey will be held at Denfeld High School on Thursday from noon to 7 p.m.

Mike Letica and other local business leaders are asking the public to drop off cash donations, as well as items like bottled water, air mattresses, toiletries and pet food.

This weekend, Letica will drive down to deliver the collected items to Liberty, Texas, a small suburb of Houston, which he says is not getting as much attention.

“When I go down there, I’m going to give these people from Texas something from someone in Duluth, Minnesota,” said Letica. “It’s going to go from my hands to their hands and I think that’s a great personal touch. I enjoy that. It’s a community to community type of thing.”

Stokkes Meat Market is donating food and a grill, which Letica will use to serve meals to families displaced by the flooding.
