Duluth Gets Ready to be Lit Teal for Ovarian Cancer

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

DULUTH, Minn. – This weekend, the Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower will be lit teal to help raise awareness for ovarian cancer. September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Ovarian cancer can often go undiagnosed during the early stages, which makes it a very lethal illness. A fundraising gala will be held at the DECC this Saturday to try and raise funds for research and treatment for patients.

“Approximately 21,000 women a year will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and it’s usually at a late stage. Approximately 15,000 die,” Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance’s Kristine Greer said. “About 400 in Minnesota will be diagnosed this year, and that’s just too many.”
