Suspect Identified in Vista Fleet Undocking

DULUTH, Minn. – Just after 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, the Duluth Police Department received a call from the Aerial Lift Bridge Operator that the Vista Fleet was adrift in the harbor.

Officers responded with the assistance of the U.S. Coast Guard and Vista Fleet personnel.

Video footage from the area of the incident shows a male guiding the Vista queen out of the slip as he walks along the shore around 2:47 a.m.

The Duluth Police Department has identified a 47-year-old male, of Excelsior, Minnesota as the suspect. He was reportedly the sole actor in this incident and criminal charges will be determined in the future, according to a release from authorities.

The Duluth Police Department has told FOX 21 that this individual is currently not in custody at this time.
