Chef Prepares Outdoor Meal at Glensheen

Borscht Was Made at This Week's "Chef in the Garden" Event

DULUTH, Minn. – A special outdoor meal has been prepared every Wednesday this month at the Glensheen Mansion.

This week, a UMD chef prepared Borscht, an eastern European soup, out of vegetables grown right at the mansion.

Guests learned from the chef how to cook the meal and were treated to free samples.

“It’s a blast,” said UMD sous chef Daemon Williams. “We’ve had perfect weather every single time we’ve done this. Fresh air, beautiful scenery, and really great kind people.”

Chef in the Garden will return to Glensheen next September.
