Commission For Women Collects Donations For Hurricane Victims

As three different regions of America are struggling to recover after devastating hurricanes, local businesses and groups here in the Northland are stepping up to help.

The UMD Commission for Women is collecting donations they say aren’t the things people typically think about when a natural disaster hits.

They’re asking people to give diapers, wipes, and hygiene products for the women and children affected.

Organizers say the support also provides emotional help.

The Commission for Women is also asking for financial donations.

They’ll be at a table at Kirby student center at UMD Thursday from 11-1p.m.

Donations can also be dropped off at the front desk of the Multicultural Center at UMD next week.
